♥♥3 CHRISTMAS  RECIPES  SUITABLE  FOR  ALMOST  ANY  GUEST♥♥

Christmas is fast approaching, so what better way to prepare than with these fun DIY, festive recipes. Do you love to get creative? Or maybe you’re looking for activities to do with the kids over the holidays… Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! We feel confident that these recipes will be suitable for a variety of people’s dietary needs.
These low-sugar, vegan, gluten free balls are a great alternative to the usual sugar-ridden Christmas truffles. They are easy to make and easy to eat for those with braces!

Low-Sugar Snowballs
Servings: 10
2 C shredded coconut
3 T coconut yoghurt
2-3 T coconut oil
Raspberries

1.       Process all ingredients except the raspberries. Depending on how good your processor is will depend on how much oil and yoghurt will be required. (Alternatively desiccated coconut would work).
2.       Roll into balls with the raspberry in the centre. Refrigerate until firm. For a sweeter taste, add rice malty syrup or stevia
This Gingerbread Smoothie is such a great healthy alternative to gingerbread cookies that are not ideal for those undergoing orthodontic treatment. The recipe is low-sugar, vegan, and gluten free.

1 tablespoon flax-seed meal (or ground chia seeds)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
pinch of ground nutmeg
pinch of ground cloves
dash of all spice
1 small handful of ice
1.       Blend all ingredients in the blender and process until smooth and creamy.  Pour into your glass, top with a little freshly grated nutmeg.
2.       Serve immediately.

We think you will love these No-Bake Gingerbread Cookie Balls that are soft, low in sugar, gluten free & vegan.

Grain-free No-Bake Gingerbread Cookie Balls

Servings: 18-24
2 cups raw organic almonds, walnuts or pecans
6 medjool dates, pitted
3 tablespoons unsulphered organic blackstrap molasses
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
dash ground cloves
dash ground nutmeg
pinch of sea salt
shredded unsweetened coconut (for rolling)
 1.       Add all of the ingredients, except the coconut, to your food processor. Process until a sticky dough ball forms. There will be some visible bits of nuts!
2.       Roll the dough with your hands into 1 1/2-inch balls and place onto a parchment paper lined sheet or tray. If it’s sticking to your hands too much, lightly wet them with a little water.
3.       After all the cookie balls are formed, gently roll them into the shredded coconut. Store these in the fridge to keep them firm.

We hope that you enjoy these orthodontic-friendly recipes with your friends and family this Christmas. Just because you are undergoing orthodontic treatment, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy traditional treats!
